A recently licensed or soon-to-be licensed elementary educator in Rhode Island who is ready to put your training into practice in a real classroom — with real support behind you. This co-teaching placement puts you alongside an experienced educator from day one, giving you the collaborative environment that new teachers thrive in.
Each classroom serves 30–32 students across Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 5th Grade — three openings are available, so you can indicate the grade level that best matches your strengths and student teaching experience. These positions carry a genuine path to permanent employment for candidates who show up consistently and bring energy to their classroom.
Bilingual candidates (Spanish preferred) and those with Special Education licensure or endorsement are especially encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-teach alongside an experienced classroom teacher, sharing instructional delivery, classroom management, and student support responsibilities.
- Plan and deliver grade-appropriate lessons aligned with Rhode Island state standards and school curriculum.
- Support the academic, social, and emotional development of all students in a diverse classroom of 30–32 students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs, including students with IEPs and English language learners.
- Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment in partnership with your co-teacher.
- Communicate regularly with families, school staff, and Arbor regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and grade-level team collaboration as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure / Certification: Rhode Island RIDE Elementary Education license required. Candidates holding a current teaching license from a state with Rhode Island reciprocity will be considered and must be prepared to obtain RI licensure. Special Education licensure or endorsement is a strong plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Education, or a related field required. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Experience: Prior classroom teaching experience preferred but not required — student teaching experience is accepted and valued. A willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow in a collaborative environment matters most.
Language Skills: Bilingual candidates (Spanish preferred) are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given priority consideration.
Other Requirements: Must successfully complete a background check and any additional screening required by the school or district prior to placement.
