Job Description
Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
Location: Providence, RI
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $40.00-$44.00 per hour

As an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, you will be at the forefront of providing individualized instruction and support to preschool-aged children in a nurturing, evidence-based classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a specialized preschool and kindergarten classroom designed for success, with a maximum of six children per class.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support each child's learning and development goals.
- Coordinate student programs, including goal planning, instructional design, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
- Work collaboratively with a team of professionals, including Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs).
- Provide training and oversight to support staff, ensuring a 2:3 staff-to-student ratio for focused and effective learning.
- Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and behavior management strategies in the classroom.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Rhode Island Department of Education Certification in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD/DD).
- At least one year of experience as a special education teacher (preferred).
- Experience working with preschool-aged children with developmental disabilities.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle required.
