Language Based Teacher
Join Arbor Associates: Empowering Special Education Since 1982. As one of Boston Business Journal's "Best Places to Work," we're seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for our Language-Based Program at our education client. The hours for this position are 7:55 am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead our Language-Based Program, providing specialized instruction and support for students with significant language-based disabilities
- Develop and implement tailored IEPs, conducting diagnostic assessments and evaluations
- Chair Review meetings and maintain comprehensive student documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including school psychologists, BCBAs, and related service providers
- Design and adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs
- Provide inclusion support and manage educational learning center activities
- Implement behavior management strategies and conduct functional assessments
- Maintain strong parent/guardian relationships and facilitate effective communication
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License: Moderate Disabilities 5-8
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred
- Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement
- 2-3 years experience working with language-based disabilities
- Experience with Wilson or other reading programs
- Strong background in IEP development and Special Education Regulations
