Special Education Teacher (SPED)
Job Description
- Deliver engaging, structured instruction in a supportive classroom environment.
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and evaluate instructional programs.
- Provide coaching, training, and oversight to direct care staff.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Severe/Profound Special Education License
- Rhode Island Department of Education Certification in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD/DD).
- At least one year of experience as a Special Education Teacher (preferred).
- Strong ability to develop and implement specialized instructional strategies.
- Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle required.
