Your Role as a Special Education Teacher:
As a Special Education Teacher, you'll play a vital role in supporting students through specialized pull-out instruction while collaborating with general education teachers in an inclusive environment. This contracted position runs through the end of the school year. The hours for this role are 8:55 am to 3:30 pm Monday - Friday.

Job Requirements
Primary Responsibilities as a Special Education Teacher:
- Develop and implement comprehensive Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and evaluations
- Facilitate Special Education Team Meetings
- Provide direct instruction in core curriculum
- Implement Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches
- Manage student and educational assistant schedules
- Work closely with classroom teachers, educational assistants, and related providers
- Collaborate with school psychologists, district BCBA and administration
- Support Behavioral Intervention Plans
Qualifications that Set You Apart as a Special Education Teacher:
- Master’s Degree preferred (or Bachelor’s degree in early childhood/elementary school)
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License in Moderate Disabilities
- SEI (Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement)
- 2+ years of elementary school special education experience
- Experience working with students with social/emotional disabilities
- Safety Care Training (or willingness to participate in training)
- Training in systematic, structured phonetic encoding/decoding approaches
- Knowledge of research based therapeutic interventions
- Experience facilitating Special Education Team Meetings
- Solid understanding of how to collect and analyze student data to direct instruction and for IEP development
- Experience writing IEPS and progress reports
