Behavioral Health Clinician

Job Description

The Behavioral Health Clinician delivers individual, family, and group therapy to a defined caseload, supporting clients through assessment, treatment, and ongoing care. This role is highly hands-on, requiring strong clinical judgment, collaboration with families and external providers, and a commitment to quality documentation and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Treatment

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy based on treatment plans

  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments (family history, mental health, substance use, etc.)

  • Develop collaborative, culturally responsive treatment plans

  • Provide crisis intervention and additional support sessions as needed

  • Conduct psychological testing (for licensed psychologists only)

Assessment & Case Coordination

  • Utilize tools such as CANS and BASC as required

  • Gather collateral information from schools, providers, and agencies

  • Identify need for referrals and coordinate additional services

  • Support discharge planning with appropriate community referrals

Family & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain consistent communication with families

  • Collaborate with external providers and community partners

  • Provide updates to psychiatrists and clinical team members

  • Assist with guardianship processes when needed

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation per policy

  • Follow Behavioral Health Policy Manual standards

  • Participate in PQI initiatives and workflow compliance

On-Call & Supervision

  • Provide after-hours on-call support for caseload (with backup coverage)

  • Attend weekly supervision with Clinical Supervisor

  • Escalate critical case issues to leadership as needed

Professional Development & Culture

  • Maintain licensure and required certifications (including CANS)

  • Participate in trainings and ongoing development

  • Approach all work through a DEI-informed lens


Job Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work

  • Minimum 1 year of post-master’s clinical experience
