ABOUT THE ROLE
Arbor Associates is seeking an experienced Early Education Lead Teacher for a full-time contract placement at a PreK program in Stoneham, MA. This is a hands-on classroom leadership role serving children ages 2–5, with additional program oversight responsibilities well-suited to a candidate who holds — or is working toward — an EEC Director credential. The school is ideally seeking a Director-level candidate, but will welcome strong Lead Teachers who bring the credentials, experience, and leadership presence to grow into that function.
Programming runs year-round, approximately 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, including Wednesday half days during the school year and full summer and school vacation programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead daily classroom instruction for children ages 2–5, delivering play-based, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Develop and implement curriculum aligned with Massachusetts EEC standards across language, literacy, numeracy, physical development, and social-emotional learning.
- Supervise children by sight and sound at all times; maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment.
- Address behavioral concerns proactively and establish consistent classroom routines and expectations.
- Assess new students, coordinate orientations, and conduct family tours.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families through regular communication, newsletters, and family engagement events.
- Mentor, observe, and support early childhood staff; lead weekly curriculum meetings and monthly staff meetings.
- Ensure program compliance with Massachusetts EEC licensing regulations and all applicable health and safety requirements.
- Assist with enrollment management, record-keeping, budget oversight, and coordination with organizational leadership.
- Contribute to program quality assessment and continuous improvement efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure / Certification: EEC Lead Teacher certification required. EEC Director I or Director II certification strongly preferred. Candidates actively working toward Director certification will be considered.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of early childhood education experience required, with demonstrated classroom leadership. Prior experience supervising staff or managing program operations a strong plus.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Massachusetts EEC licensing regulations and early learning best practices required.
Other Requirements: Valid Massachusetts driver's license required. Must successfully complete CORI and background check in accordance with Massachusetts regulations. Must be available to work until 6:00 PM.
Physical / Work Environment: Role requires regular walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and active supervision of young children indoors and outdoors. Must be able to move items up to 25–50 lbs. Must be comfortable working in varying New England weather conditions and maintain emotional composure in a dynamic environment.
