Job Description

Arbor Associates is seeking an experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to oversee classroom instruction, guide teaching staff, and ensure a high-quality early childhood learning environment. This role blends hands-on teaching with classroom leadership, curriculum ownership, and partnership with program leadership to support children, families, and staff.  Shift is 9:00 am - 5:45 pm 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the primary instructional leader in the classroom 

  • Lead day-to-day classroom operations, routines, and staffing coverage

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities 

  • Model best practices in classroom management, behavior guidance, and child engagement 

  • Ensure full compliance with policies, EEC licensing, and health and safety regulations 

  • Observe, assess, and document children’s progress and developmental milestones 

  • Communicate consistently and professionally with families regarding child's progress and classroom updates 

  • Mentor, support, and collaborate with Assistant Teachers and classroom staff 

  • Partner closely with the Assistant Director on classroom planning, documentation, and quality improvement 

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment 

  • Uphold confidentiality for children, families, and staff 

  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development (minimum 20 hours annually)

Job Requirements

Requirements: 
  • EEC Lead Preschool Teacher Certification (required) 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field 
    – OR Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 36 ECE-related credits 
    – OR Bachelor’s degree with Montessori Certificate 
    – OR State Educator License in Early Childhood (Pre-K–2) 
    • Current child and adult CPR/First Aid certification 
    • Completion of EEC 2.0 Strong Start (12 hours) 
    • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills 
    • Demonstrated experience leading a classroom and supporting teaching staff 
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse children, families, and colleagues
