Job Overview
Arbor Associates is seeking reliable and flexible Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our per diem bench team supporting residential programs in the Gardner/Fitchburg area.
This position is ideal for someone looking for supplemental income and who has a flexible schedule. Bench staff fill open shifts due to call-outs, vacations, leaves of absence, and other staffing needs. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary from week to week.
Schedule
- Per diem (as needed)
- Primarily 2nd Shift and Overnight (3rd Shift)
- Weekend availability required
- Must be able to accept shifts on short notice when possible
Pay
- $20.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene and meal preparation as needed.
- Encourage independence while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
- Complete required documentation and report any changes or incidents.
- Follow individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies.
- Transport or accompany individuals in the community when required.
Job Requirements
Requirements
- At least 6 months of DSP, human services, caregiving, or related experience preferred.
- Must be comfortable with ADLs (feeding, toileting, & bathing)
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 30 minutes between assignments.
- Must pass all required background checks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing staffing needs.
Certification Requirement
Candidates must have a current CPI or Safety-Care certification.
If you are not currently certified, you must be willing to obtain a CPI certification by attending a paid 3-day weekday training in Southborough, MA before working independently.
