Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Old Lyme, CT - (Per Diem) First and Second Shifts

Arbor Associates is seeking dependable and experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals in a residential program in Old Lyme, CT. This position is ideal for someone who is confident working in a behavioral setting, able to provide hands-on support, and committed to creating a safe and structured environment for the individuals they serve.


The shifts available are: Direct Support Professional (DSP) 

  • Saturdays & Sundays: 8:30 AM-8:30 PM
  • Mondays & Fridays: 2:30 PM-7:30 PM
  • Sunday, Monday, Thursday: 3:00 PM – 10:30 PM
  • Tuesday & Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 7:30 PM
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 7 Saturdays: 3:00 PM-10:30 PM
  • Thursdays: 10:30 PM-9:30 AM
  • Fridays & Saturdays: 10:30 PM- 8:30 AM
  • Sundays, Mondays, & Tuesdays: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM

What you will do: Direct Support Professional (DSP) 

  • Provide direct care and supervision in a residential setting
  • Support individuals with behavioral challenges and daily living needs
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful environment
  • Implement behavior support strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Accurately document shift activity and communicate effectively with team members
  • Assist with transportation and community-based activities as needed

Job Requirements


What we are looking for: Direct Support Professional (DSP) 

  • Medication Certification required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Experience working in a behavioral residential setting preferred
  • PMT certification preferred (training available for the right candidate)
  • Strong communication skills, reliability, and professionalism
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
  • Must be comfortable providing hands-on support and supervision
