Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Schedule: 1st & 2nd Shifts (Weekends Required)
Location: East Granby, CT 

Arbor Associates is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals in a residential setting in East Granby. This role requires consistency, professionalism, and the ability to provide structured, hands-on support across both first and second shifts, including weekends. Please note: This position may involve supporting Male personal care needs where client privacy and program requirements must be maintained. Assignments will be made in alignment with those needs. If you’re reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable in a hands-on care environment, this is a strong fit.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide direct care and supervision in a residential setting
  • Support individuals with daily living skills, routines, and community engagement
  • Assist with ADLs while maintaining dignity and privacy
  • Implement behavior support strategies as needed
  • Transport individuals to appointments and activities
  • Accurately document shift activity and communicate with team members

Job Requirements

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Requirements: 
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in Direct Care or Human Services, or in roles like CNA, Residential Counselor, HHA, Mental Health Worker, Caregiver, childcare worker, PCA, or similar.  
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.  
  • Willingness to obtain additional on-the-job training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) techniques, Medication Administration (MAP), or Safety Care as required for each worksite.  
  • Reliable transportation & active, valid driver's license  
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.  
  • Ability to pass extensive background screening, including fingerprinting with agencies like the EEC or DDS.  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as the role requires.
