Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Schedule:
- Thursday: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM (overnight)
- Friday: 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM (overnight)
Location: Clinton, CT (Training in Branford, CT required)
Arbor Associates is seeking a dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) for overnight coverage in a residential setting. This role requires someone who is alert, consistent, and comfortable providing hands-on support throughout overnight shifts. Please note: This position includes supporting personal care needs where client privacy and program requirements must be maintained. Assignments will be made in alignment with those needs. If you’re someone who can stay steady and awake overnight, manage routines, and respond appropriately when needed, this is a strong fit.

- Provide overnight supervision and support in a residential setting
- Assist with personal care needs and ensure client safety and comfort
- Monitor routines, respond to overnight needs, and maintain structure
- Utilize de-escalation techniques and follow behavior support plans as needed
- Complete documentation and communicate with incoming staff during shift transitions

Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of experience in Direct Care or Human Services, or in roles like CNA, Residential Counselor, HHA, Mental Health Worker, Caregiver, childcare worker, PCA, or similar.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Willingness to obtain additional on-the-job training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (PMT) techniques, Medication Administration, or Safety Care as required for each worksite.
- Reliable transportation & active, valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass extensive background screening, including fingerprinting with agencies like the DYS.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as the role requires.
