Business Development Specialist Human Services, Medical, and Education
Job Description
Are you a motivated, relationship-driven sales professional looking to grow with a purpose-driven organization? Arbor Associates, a leading staffing agency with over 40 years of success in human services, medical, and educational staffing, is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our high-performing team.
This role follows a hybrid model: in-office on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and remote on Mondays and Thursdays.
What You'll Do:
Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities through outreach, research, and networking
Build lasting relationships with decision-makers and champion Arbor’s staffing solutions across multiple lines of business
Collaborate closely with Recruiting and Operations teams to align candidate delivery with client expectations
Participate in client onboarding, providing post-sale support and contributing to long-term satisfaction and retention
Maintain accurate CRM records, manage pipelines, and drive business development strategy in your assigned territory
Conduct structured partnership reviews and renew service agreements regularly
Represent Arbor at industry events, conferences, and trade meetings
Job Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
1–3 years of experience in business development, sales, customer service, or operations
A strong relationship builder who listens first and communicates with purpose
Highly self-motivated with a strategic mindset and an eagerness to learn
Bachelor’s degree preferred; prior experience in staffing or in the Human Services, Education, or Medical fields is a plus
Tech-savvy with a strong command of MS Office and CRM/ATS tools
Willingness to travel (~30%) across Southern New England to build partnerships and close business

Human Resources Manager
Judith Saraf joined Arbor in 2023 as the Human Resources Manager, responsible for overseeing HR functions and teams. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Plymouth State University and brings with her over 27 years of Human Resources related experience and knowledge working in the healthcare and hospitality fields. Judith has assisted companies streamline and implement HRIS systems, lead organizations through the shift to consumer driven health plans, executed talent management strategies including recruitment and retention initiatives and has many years of experience with internal employee and labor relations. She has a passion for employee engagement with creative programs and is one of many things she looks forward to bringing to the Arbor team. When not at work, she enjoys painting, and spending time with her husband and 3 sons. Judith also enjoys volunteering with “A Wish Come True” - a nonprofit that delivers wishes to critically ill children in Southeastern MA and Rhode Island.
