We’re looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to help us measure and manage our business by producing accurate and timely financials as well as supporting reports and analysis – all so we can better support the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex accounting tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Be the primary backup for accounts payable and receivable, and payroll. May occasionally process vendor invoices, expense reports, and
     ensure accurate coding and approvals
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements,
     and cash flow statements, often against multiple dimensions
  • Be the primary owner of the company’s use of its chosen financial accounting software, including
     for financial compilation, analysis, budgeting, and reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing changes to increase
    efficiency and accuracy in financial operations, both manual processes and within software
     platform(s.)
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and provide support as
     needed

Job Requirements


 QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA a plus
  •  5+ years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field
  •  Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  •  Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc…) Experience with Sage Intacct a
     strong plus
  •  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with outstanding Excel skills
  •  Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Some supervisory experience a plus
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical financial practices

This is a regular, full-time, twelve-month-per year-position. This is a fully on-site role, with normal work hours of 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday; with some flexibility required to meet the needs of the company.

Steve Aldrich joined Arbor Associates in August 2013 as the President and CEO. Steve is responsible for building the Arbor team and ensuring that the company’s mission to deliver outstanding customer service to our employees and our customers is met. In his spare time, he likes cooking, swimming, hiking, landscaping, reading and spending time with his kids (when they’ll let him.) Prior to working at Arbor Associates, Steve applied his early experience at Raytheon and Intel to later hold various C-suite roles in small, mission-driven companies in multiple industries. Steve holds bachelor’s degrees in business and economics from UMass Amherst and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
